A Beautiful View from the Roof of the Pan Pacific Vancouver
Looks like Summer is finally here in Vancouver!
I took these HDR photos this past Thursday evening on the roof of the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel:
The roof of the Pan Pacific Hotel is something truly special. Like many of our rooms, it offers brilliant panoramas of the Coastal Mountains, Downtown Vancouver, Coal Harbour and the Vancouver Waterfront.
To join me, I invited up friend, photographer and gadget super geek John Biehler to capture some amazing Gigapan panoroma photos that will be up on the blog next week. Gigapans are gigapixel panoramas , digital images with billions of pixels. They are massive panoramas with fascinating detail, all captured in the context of a single brilliant photo.
Here is a look at the device in action, which is taking hundreds of photos at various different focal lengths (which will then be stitched together for one final photo).
