Canada Day 2014 Festivities at Canada Place!
The ultimate place to take in all of the Canada Day Festivities in Vancouver is without a doubt at the Canada Place Convention Center!
Located right below the Pan Pacific Vancouver, Canada Place has been hosting the party for over 20 years and is the largest Canada Day celebration outside the nation’s capital. Come by this July 1 for 13 hours of FREE family fun. From 10:00am – 6:00pm guests will enjoy a wide variety of live performances, breathtaking exhibits and interactive displays at the Waterfront Party.
This year the day’s events include:
Featured Performances – Headline performances by Said the Whale, The Paperboys, Three Time World Champion Hoop Dancer Alex Wells, Crystal Shawanda, and more than 25 music and dance acts on three stage. View the full schedule.
Go Canada! Sports Zone – What better place than to be active and have fun? Test your skills with soccer drills, watch a game of wheelchair basketball or join the jump rope competition.
Salty’s Market – Port Metro Vancouver welcomes you to peruse the 50+ Portobello West vendors and artisans selling locally made goods or imported items, featuring stories of people in our communities and their connection to the Port. Learn about the importance of trade, how the Port operates day to day, meet Salty and more!
The West Coast Lumberjack Show – Sit back and enjoy an exhilarating showcase of fearless skills and daredevils displays. Watch the lumberjacks partake in chainsaw carving and Jack n’ Jill double buck. View the full schedule.
Celebration Stage – the stage for all things Canadian! The day kicks off with the great Sweet Soul Gospel Choir, followed by the popular citizenship ceremony where we will welcome 60 new citizens to our Canadian family. Canadian Forces Zone – See incredible displays and exhibits that honour our country’s armed forces and heroes!
Maple Lodge Farms Community Stage at North Point – With the stunning North Shore mountains in the background, Canada Day at Canada Place begins with a large outdoor yoga class and then transitions into the perfect area to enjoy great family friendly entertainment. Last but not least, be sure to check out the main event which is the Coast Capital Savings Canada Day Fireworks Show – Cap your evening off with a bang and enjoy the fireworks at Canada Place at 10:30pm. The two barges are located in Dundarave and Coal Harbour, with best viewing areas from Harbour Green Park, Stanley Park, West Vancouver and North Vancouver. Learn more here.
