Summer Photos from Around the Hotel

With the weather finally making a turn for the better, I thought I’d share a few photos from around the hotel with a summer theme in mind.

In the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some of the better photos from around Vancouver sent in by the public. If you have any shots you’d like to share or if you’ve seen anything interesting online, send them to: [email protected]

Happy Sunday!

Akshay Kumar’s Visit to Vancouver

A few weeks ago, Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar stayed at the Pan Pacific.

Him and his team stayed at the hotel for almost a month while they were on set for their new movie, Thank You.  Akshay was a gracious guest and agreed to take a few photos before he left.  Akshay said he enjoyed his stay in Vancouver, but was excited to get back to his hometown Mumbai, India after a long visit away from home.

Here is a photo of him outside the hotel with General Manager, Tim Tindle.

With summer just around the corner, things are getting busy around the hotel.  More guests are staying at the hotel and more tourists are coming in to enjoy the patio, food and the views of the harbour.

There to handle the rush is the Pan Pacific’s Chef Team.

Here are a few of the staff who make up an award winning crew, bringing guests some of the tastiest and diverse cuisine in the city.

The Pacific Rim Seafood Platter

Last month, the cafe Pacifica Restaurant introduced a new menu for the summer season.

Pacific Rim Seafood Platter

The Chefs Team decided they wanted to create a menu sheet with new flavours and fresh ingredients. The plan was to make this season’s menu fresh, light, colourful and of course – tasty!

Here is a look at the Pacific Rim Seafood Platter which includes: kusshi oysters, ginger wild salmon, king crab and garlic shrimp on salsa.

The 8th Floor Pool Deck

Here’s a look at the Pan Pacific’s 8th floor pool.

This pool is a one of a kind as it’s the only outdoor heated saltwater pool in Vancouver.  As you can tell, on a good day, the pool offers a panoramic view of the coastal mountains.

I wish I could take credit for this photo, but I do not own a helicopter…nor do I have access to one!

Here is an aerial shot of Canada Place, the Royal Princess and the Pan Pacific Vancouver.  Every summer, the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal harbours almost 300 cruise ships carrying over 1 million passengers.
