The Cafe Pacifica NEW Fall and Winter Menu at the Pan Pacific Vancouver

This afternoon, the Cafe Pacifica Restaurant at the Pan Pacific Vancouver will introduce its new menu for the fall and Christmas season.

Already the new food sheet is being considered one of the best menus in recent history for the hotel with its variety of options and rich flavours to choose from.

For this season, the Chefs Team decided to keep some of the more popular dishes from summer while adding several new items like: Ahi Tuna Tartar, Braised Veal Shank, Chicken and Prawn Fettucini and the Soya Marinated Queen Charlotte Sablefish.

According to Executive Chef Daryle Nagata, the emphasis on this year’s menu is Comfort Food.

“During the summer we wanted to keep things very light and fresh with items like our Seared Halibut and Smoked Wild Pacific Salmon. For the fall and winter however, we wanted to revert back to old classic comfort food – but with a modern twist!

This season’s items come with bolder flavours and more heartier proportions. We also put an emphasis on “slow cooking” with a high majority of our food being totally unprocessed. Our options are sure to fill you up and keep you warm during the winter!”

One of my favourite options this season is the Soya Marinated Sable Fish (shown below) which is low in carbs and high in protein and flavour. With fresh quinoa and Japanese mayo to accompany, it’s the perfect seafood dish with a little spice!

…and if you’re really feeling hungry, I would recommend either the Chicken and Prawn Fettuccine or the Mixed Grill with Okanogan Wine Jus.

The Mixed Grill includes: beef tenderloin medallions, lamb chops, venison & pork sausage, roast fingerling potatoes and fresh vegetables. It’s great choice if you’re not averse to red meat and looking for variety.

Last but not least on the menu are the dessert options.

The Pan Pacific has its own pastry kitchen where they prepare fresh dessert pastry items each day.

The fall menu has added 5 dessert items as shown below which include (from left to right):

Tiramisu Cupcake, Modern Savarin au Passion, Crunchy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar, Baked Cranberry Anise Cheesecake and the Sweet Temptation Cup.

There’s also a new room service only menu which includes several specialty items like the Chocolate Lemon Meringue Tart (as shown below).
