Eat! Vancouver 2015
Most people know Eat! Vancouver for its food expo, which will be held at BC Place this year from May 1 to May 3. The expo features hundreds of exhibitors offering cooking demonstrations and selling kitchen gadgets, as well as chefs and brewers who are there to show off their latest food and drink creations. However, there are many more events in the week leading up to Eat! Vancouver that you won’t want to miss. You will find everything from hands-on cooking classes, to dinners prepared by famous chefs and more. Here’s a look at a few of the events that may interest you:
An exclusive event with Chef Pino Posteraro, owner of Vancouver’s highly acclaimed Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill & Entocca and winner of Vancouver magazine’s prestigious Chef of the Year in 2014. Chef Pino, will meet 20 guests at the Granville Island Public Market and lead an exclusive private shopping experience, returning for a lunch & learn demo in the private room at Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill. This event has limited availability and is a great way to see Granville Island which made Pan Pacific Vancouver’s list of 13 Ways to Enjoy Spring in Vancouver.
As part of Eat! Vancouver’s Dinner Series, you are invited to a not-to-be-missed evening showcasing the best of Canada’s modern Asian cuisine. This event will take place on April 29th and is limited to 48 guests. The ticket will include a sparkling welcome, five-course dinner, wine pairings and gratuity. Toronto’s newly opened Asian brasserie, DaiLo, joins Vancouver’s critically acclaimed and award-winning Maenam restaurant for an evening showcasing Canada’s modern Asian cuisine. In August, 2014, Nick Liu opened DaiLo restaurant in Toronto’s Little Italy neighbourhood and immediately became the cool kid of Toronto’s dining scene. Nick Liu joins Angus An at Vancouver’s highly acclaimed and award-winning Maenam restaurant. Since opening in 2009, Angus An has established Maenam as Vancouver’s premier modern Thai restaurant, blending traditional dishes with local BC ingredients.
